The Mixed Bag

The process of compiling a "Top..XX" of anything always means that you have to make tough decisions and miss a few out. My "Mixed Bag" section is an attempt to address this and to include those shows that can't really be ignored in a blog such as this. Four of these are UK-based dramas that, due to limited funds and production values compared to the blockbusting US titles, just cannot compete at the same level of scale, scope and depth. There are two subtitled dramas, one comedy and the only pre-1990 drama out of the 40 that is a seminal sci-fi series.

This is a more arbitrary list because these were taken from a selection pool that is far wider and huge compared with "The 32" in my previous post. Further, with the inclusion of The Twilight Zone the floodgates of objections, I imagine, will not only open but be swept away in a tidal wave. Nevertheless, be assured this selection is just a "mixed bag" and is definitely not my way of saying that these are greater than any others not in "The 32." For the record, I have watched the complete collection of Cracker, Season #1 of Psychoville, Season #1 and #2 of Sherlock and a few episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm. As far as The Twilight Zone goes, I may have caught a couple in my youth and apart from this, it'll be entirely new. I have not watched the others.

What happens now?
Now that I have revealed "The 32", I need to set up an index page listing the shows and the separate seasons. I'll then change the entries to links when I have viewed the relevant season and written the relevant review. I'd also like write about my viewing habits and the regularity with which I'll be watching and posting reviews. Finally, I need to show a chart of the purchases I have made, more for personal reasons, so I can keep track of things.
